The Florida Associa?on of the Deaf (FAD) is seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to serve on several committees and coordinator roles.

This is a valuable opportunity to contribute your skills, support the Deaf
community, and help advance FAD’s mission across the state.

We are currently inviting interest for the following Committiee and Positions:

1. Youth Coordinator / Committee
Focus on engaging Deaf youth and emerging leaders by organizing programs, leadership development
opportuni?es, and conference ac?vi?es.

2. Education Committee
Advocate for the quality of Deaf education in Florida, collaborate with schools and educators, and monitor policies affecting Deaf and hard of hearing students.

3. Legislative (Advocacy) Committee
Track state laws and policies, advocate for accessibility and rights, and coordinate with state organizations to ensure Deaf voices are represented.

4. Senior Citizens Committee
Support older Deaf adults by addressing needs related to healthcare, housing, and community connection.

5. Auditor / Finance Oversight Committee
Assist in reviewing financial records, ensuring transparency, and supporting sound financial practices

6. Fundraising Committee
Strengthen FAD’s long-term sustainability through fundraising, donor engagement, and financial growth initiatives. 

7. Webmaster / Digital Media Committee
Manage FAD’s website and social media, improve accessibility through digital content, and promote events and outreach.

8. Endowment Committee
Focus on building and maintaining a strong endowment fund, including investment strategies, donor relations and planned giving.

9. ByLaws Committee
To Ensure the Organization operates according to current and Effective governing rules.

10. Conference/Conven@on Committee.
Organizes and manages the Bi-Annual Conference. 50th Biennial – October 2027.

We are looking for individuals who are commited, and enthusiastic  about making a postitive impact. Whether you have prior experience or are eager to grow into a leadership role, your involvement is welcomed.

FAD OFFICERS ELECTION
At the Florida Association of the Deaf State Conference held in Kissimmee, Florida on
March 27, 2026, the Election Committee (Rex Moers, Mary Ann Antal, and Eddy Laird)
conducted the election process. Candidates for each position presented remarks,
followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion, including consideration of both
positive and negative aspects of each candidate. Voting was conducted, and ballots
were counted by hand by the Election Committee.
