Miss Deaf Florida 

Cara DiGiovanni My name is Cara DiGiovanni and I am the Miss Deaf Florida for 2009-2011. I have been selected to represent Florida in the 2010 Miss Deaf Ambassador Pageant. This pageant will be at the National Association of the Deaf in Philadelphia, Pa. during the month of July. I am currently attending Gallaudet University as a second year student. My goal is to graduate with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and obtain a Master of Arts in Deaf Bilingual Education. I want to work with deaf children helping them to accomplish with both their American Sign Language and english skills. Since I am seeking to widen community knowledge about my participation in the 2010 Miss Deaf Ambassador Pageant, I am writing to ask for your generous support in helping me achieve my dream of participating in the pageant. Becoming Miss Deaf Florida will not only help me achieve my personal goals but will also assist me in becoming a positive role model for the Deaf Community in our state. It is my goal to make a difference in the Deaf Community. It is also my goal to become a leader as an advocate for the Deaf Community, to motivate young Deaf people and to encourage them to become self-sufficient and optimistic. I am requesting financial contributions to help defer the cost of the Miss Deaf Ambassador Pageant program expenses.
